Vestibular Therapy

360 Physical Therapy offers specialized care for your patients who have dizziness and imbalance conditions. We have specially trained therapists at each of our 7 locations. Most commonly we are able to help patients who have BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo), inner ear hypofunction (post infection disorders), and central vertigo/neurological disorders. Your patients are always in the hands of a trained therapist as our company does not employ assistants or techs.

Common Conditions Treated:

There are many causes of dizziness and imbalance. There are three balance components which communicate with your brain to tell you where you are in space: vision, proprioception and the inner ear. Often the inner ear/vestibular system is the primary suspect. The following are some common conditions which are treated at our facility.

BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo):

which involves the semi-circular canals of the inner ear. This can cause brief episodes of intense dizziness, spinning and nausea usually associated with a change in the position of your head.

Neuronitis or Labyrinthitis:

which is an infection of the inner ear can cause intense dizziness, nausea and imbalance and can result in inner ear weakness or hypofunction thus causing balance difficulties, dizziness, vertigo and motion sensitivity.

Central Vertigo (Neurological):

This type of balance disorder is related to strokes, head injuries and movement disorders such as Parkinson's.

Treatment:

Treatment for these conditions may involve simple repositioning maneuvers in the case of a patient with positional vertigo, but habituation activities and balance therapy is usually required in cases of inner ear weakness or central disorders.
